Botox in Fort Lauderdale

YouTube video

What is Botox?

Botox is a drug that’s prepared from a bacterial toxin, used cosmetically to remove wrinkles by paralyzing the muscles.

What are the benefits of Botox?

Botox is a great option for removing or reducing wrinkles without surgical means. If you’re looking for a more youthful appearance, it’s a great option. The good news is, if you don’t like it, it’s not permanent.

What are the disadvantages of Botox?

Well, if you go to somebody who’s rather unskilled, you’re obviously not going to get great results. You may end up with some asymmetries of the face, a droopy eyelid, and if you go to somebody who’s really aggressive with the needle, you may end up with a lot more bruising than you expected.

How long should Botox last?

This is really contingent upon your metabolism and how active you are. If you work out a ton, it’s not likely that the Botox is going to last any more than three to four months, but the general range is anywhere from between three and six months.

How much does Botox cost?

This is really dependent upon the reputation of the injector, your geographic location, what particular or specific clinic you go to, but the general average is anywhere between $10 and $20 per unit. But this is a really loaded question, so be careful here. It’s not uncommon for a clinician to dilute the Botox. You may go into a clinic and they’re charging $10 a unit, but they’re, in fact, diluting the solution. So, you can very often end up spending the same or even more at another office that would charge $15 to $20 a unit, for example.

What do you need to avoid after Botox?

The typical guidelines here are to avoid laying down for four hours after the procedure, you really shouldn’t do any sort of strenuous exercises for 24 hours, and you also should avoid consuming large amounts of alcohol 24 hours after.

How do you find a great clinician who performs Botox?

I think this is probably an opportunity for me to vote for a dentist. Dentists who are certified to perform Botox are a great option. Think about it, who is it that is injecting more frequently in the head and neck area? A dentist is. And what doctor uses finesse and precision on a day to day basis? Again, a dentist. Dentists have a thorough and comprehensive understanding of head and neck anatomy, and this certainly includes the muscles of the face. Aside from dentists, you can also find plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and even nurses who will perform this procedure.

What does the procedure consist of?

You’ll typically go in for a consultation with the doctor, he or she will map out your face, kind of getting a gauge from you as to what you see as your problem areas. The actual injections themselves may last maybe five minutes. It’s actually rather quick.

“Dr John has been fantastic and I’m so glad that I have someone that I can truly trust with my dental care! I needed a new crown and bridge and couldn’t be happier with the results. They look so natural and perfect for my smile! I’ve also had a whitening treatment in house and was extremely pleased with the results. Their staff are all very friendly and caring, at both locations. I also appreciate how efficient and flexible they are with appointments.”

"I absolutely love this office. Starting from the front desk girls, they are always so friendly. I love having my teeth cleaned by Olga, she’s so gentle and yet so good, makes you want to go back for cleanings more often. Dr John is very nice, and professional. This office is great at educating you when dental work is needed, but never tries to pressure you into getting it done. Thank you for always making me feel welcome and cared for."

"JJ Dental is AWESOME, I promise after your first cleaning you’ll be hooked. Dr John is extremely talented, his service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. The best part is that I never feel pressured to get any work done, I am given my options but also told “ if it doesn’t hurt we can hold off for now.” I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new dentist."

Insurance & Financing

At JJ Dental our insurance specialists deal directly with your insurance providers.

A thorough breakdown of your benefits allows us to give you the most accurate coverage estimate possible. Based on this information we can provide you with a plan that maximizes your benefits and minimizes your out of pocket expense. Once treatment has begun we will even submit the insurance claims on your behalf to eliminate any headaches for you. (See Accepted Insurance)

While a majority of insurance plans will cover a large percentage of preventative and restorative care, they rarely cover cosmetic procedures. For any procedures not covered or beyond your plans maximum benefit, we provide several payment options including cash, check, money order, and major credit cards. We also offer flexible, no interest monthly installment plans through care credit and lending club that help you get the treatment you need without a financial burden.

We believe that there are three main considerations that you should be aware of when choosing a dentist.

Does the dentist care deeply about you and your dental health?

Is the dentist skilled enough to consistently provide the highest quality of dental care?

Does the dentist have the team and the tools available to provide you with the highest quality of care?

At JJ Dental our entire team is proud to be able to answer yes to each of these critical questions.
