Teeth Whitening
Sometimes It’s as Easy as Teeth Whitening in Fort Lauderdale Florida
Most of us come in contact with substances that stain our teeth on a regular basis. Substances like coffee, tea, cigarettes, wine, and certain vegetables and fruits. Over time lovely white teeth can lose their shine and luster. Without realizing why, you can appear older and less confident about your smile.
Fortunately, the secret is often as simple as teeth whitening in Fort Lauderdale Florida. A good cleaning procedure along with the whitening process can work wonders on your teeth, totally reviving their bright white sparkle.
Teeth Whitening at JJ Dental, in Fort Lauderdale
Who doesn’t dream of that impeccable, gleaming, impressively white smile? Unfortunately, it seems that this ideal is not simple to attain by most people, no matter how careful they are with their dental hygiene habits, how often they brush, and how effective their toothpaste is. Aging, one’s diet, and several other factors all contribute to the apparition of discolored patches and stains on the skin of one’s teeth.
Do I have to give up drinking red wine to keep my teeth from being stained?
Question: I really love drinking red wine. Do I have to give it up completely to keep my teeth from being stained or is there anything that I can do after drinking red wine that will keep my teeth from getting messed up?
Is there any sensitivity involved in teeth whitening, and if so, is it temporary or permanent?
Some patients do experience sensitivity following teeth whitening but it’s totally temporary. The bleaching gel opens the pores in your teeth. The tooth, believe it or not, has pores just like in your skin. The gel will open the pores and draw the the external stain out of those pores and it lightens the teeth. If you’re opening the pores of the teeth, sure you’re pulling stain out of the teeth, but you’re also making the tooth more permeable, and more sensitive to cold or hot things as well.
How long does the take home teeth whitening take?
You would do it for two weeks straight or until you get to your desired shade. There is a point where you might say to yourself, “Okay, my teeth are white enough and I don’t need to bleach them any further.” That might happen after four days, it might happen after a week, it might happen after two weeks, or you might not ever get to that desired shade for a number of reasons. Not everyone’s teeth bleach the same.
How would you recommend someone care for their teeth after they’ve had them whitened?
Normally after the Zoom treatment or the Diversident treatment, I might recommend a toothpaste that helps to desensitize the teeth. It has phosphates in it, and it’s going to desensitize the teeth so that they’re not so sensitive or you can minimize the amount of sensitivity after the procedures done.

Insurance & Financing
At JJ Dental our insurance specialists deal directly with your insurance providers.
A thorough breakdown of your benefits allows us to give you the most accurate coverage estimate possible. Based on this information we can provide you with a plan that maximizes your benefits and minimizes your out of pocket expense. Once treatment has begun we will even submit the insurance claims on your behalf to eliminate any headaches for you. (See Accepted Insurance)
While a majority of insurance plans will cover a large percentage of preventative and restorative care, they rarely cover cosmetic procedures. For any procedures not covered or beyond your plans maximum benefit, we provide several payment options including cash, check, money order, and major credit cards. We also offer flexible, no interest monthly installment plans through care credit and lending club that help you get the treatment you need without a financial burden.

We believe that there are three main considerations that you should be aware of when choosing a dentist.
Does the dentist care deeply about you and your dental health?
Is the dentist skilled enough to consistently provide the highest quality of dental care?
Does the dentist have the team and the tools available to provide you with the highest quality of care?
At JJ Dental our entire team is proud to be able to answer yes to each of these critical questions.
