Introduction to All-on-4 Dental Implants

Full-arch tooth replacement has evolved significantly, offering solutions that go far beyond traditional dentures. All-on-4 dental implants provide a way to restore an entire arch of teeth with a fixed, stable solution that looks, feels, and functions more like natural teeth.

At JJ Dental, full-arch implant treatment is approached with detailed planning, advanced imaging, and a collaborative team strategy. We proudly care for patients from Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Pompano Beach, and Pembroke Pines, offering comprehensive solutions for complex dental needs.

What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 dental implants, sometimes referred to as All-on-4, All-on-4®, All-on-X, or hybrid dentures, are a full-arch restoration supported by four strategically placed implants. This approach allows us to replace all teeth in the upper or lower arch with a fixed prosthesis that remains securely in place, rather than a removable one.

For many patients, this solution offers a more stable and long-term alternative to traditional dentures.

Who Is a Candidate for All-on-4?

All-on-4 treatment is often recommended for patients who:

  • Are missing most or all of their teeth
  • Currently wear dentures and want a more stable solution
  • Have extensive decay or teeth that cannot be restored
  • Have experienced bone loss and are not ideal candidates for traditional implants

If you still have healthy teeth and are primarily concerned with appearance, other options such as veneers or crowns may be more appropriate.

What’s the First Step?

To get started with All-on-4 implants, you will first sit down with our team of dedicated dental experts to discuss your concerns and answer any questions you have about the treatment. You will learn about the risks, downtime, costs, and projected outcomes of All-on-4 implants, and undergo a detailed medical and physical assessment. We will then book your appointment and provide instructions to follow prior to your visit.

What to Expect on the Day of All-on-4 Dental Implants Treatment

Treatment with All-on-4 implants is performed over a series of steps, including the following:

Step 1:
Placing the Implants

As a first step, your dental expert will make small incisions along the gumline to place titanium posts that will serve as anchors for the new teeth. After this phase is completed, you will need to wait for 3-6 months for the posts to fuse with the jawbone.

Step 2:
Creating Your Temporary Restorations

Once your implants have settled into place, we will attach abutments to them. Our state-of-the-art lab will take an impression of your mouth and use it to manufacture your individualized restorations. You will be fitted with temporary teeth while we fabricate your final crowns and bridges.

Delivering Your Permanent Restorations

Your customized permanent restorations are meticulously created and fitted to your implants using world-class technology to maximize comfort.

All-on-4 Dental Implants Recovery

For the first few days after your All-on-4 treatment in Fort Lauderdale or Pompano Beach, you will need to choose rest and recuperation over activity and stress. Avoid touching, rubbing, or disturbing the treatment areas, as this might tear your sutures. We will prescribe pain medications, and you can also use ice packs to alleviate soreness. Don’t engage in strenuous workouts for the first week, and avoid flossing for two weeks.
