
You call the office, and the office will call me. Or the emergency call center will call me, and I’ll respond. I call the patient. Either prescribe pain medicine or antibiotics if it’s a patient of record, or I will just agree to either see them on the weekend, if I feel that it’s really that much of an emergency.
If the patient is comfortable with coming in first thing the next morning at 8:00 a.m., I’m happy to see them then too. Emergencies are always, always squeezed in. They’re never turned away, that’s for sure. We see them as soon as humanly possible.
