You want to get in the habit of having your teeth professionally cleaned four times per year. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends taking your child to the dentist by the age of one or within six months after the first tooth erupts. Baby teeth begin growing in around six months of age, now if we’re being realistic it can be tough to bring in such a young child to the dentist.

Number one, when you’re searching for a new dentist you want to call the office and ask the staff member if the dentist wears dental loops. These are basically magnifying glasses that a dentist wears to see exponentially better. Although this is not considered standard of care for a dentist, it certainly should be. If the staff member answers no to this question, run.
